A West Virginia teen died Saturday after jumping into the frigid waters of the Russell Fork in Pike County, Kentucky. 17-year old Alex Smith of Delbarton was with a group of people at Pool Point within Breaks Interstate Park about 6 p.m. Saturday when he jumped in and was swept downstream. Rescuers from several agencies searched into the night and recovered Smith’s body Sunday morning. Kelly said the water was high and about 48 degrees at the time of the incident. Mingo Central High School released Smith’s name and offered condolences on Facebook.
