The city of Richwood has a new police chief after its previous chief was charged with domestic battery. City officials posted on the town’s Facebook page Friday that Jacob Casey is the new chief. The previous chief, Charles Burkhamer Jr., was charged with domestic battery after a domestic incident Wednesday night, according to a news release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office. Richwood Mayor Chris Drennen said Burkhamer has been demoted to his previous position of lieutenant and remains on paid suspension.
