These are tones that play on your smartphones for amber alerts, tornado warnings, flash flood warnings, tsunami and hurricane warnings. With the changes, alerts will be longer with more information, and the alerts are available in Spanish. New geo-targeting also helps alert users in more defined areas. Changes are just hitting phones this week, and it may take a while before all providers carry them.
