A man from Barbour County was stopped by security at Yeager Airport Sunday after the Transportation Security Administration detected a gun in his carry-on bag. The man had a .22 caliber revolver loaded with 13 bullets with one in the chamber and 21 additional loose bullets in the bag. Yeager Airport Police were notified and confiscated the gun and detained the man before citing him on weapons charges. The man told officers he forgot he had his loaded gun with him. TSA wants travelers to know that when someone has a firearm at a checkpoint, the checkpoint lane comes to a standstill until the incident is resolved, which can delay travelers.
