As state education officials plan for students to potentially return to in-person classes this fall, traditional band camps have been ruled out. The West Virginia Department of Education said Friday marching bands can begin practicing under current West Virginia Secondary Schools Activities Commission guidelines, but daylong camps will not be allowed. Bands can rehearse in three hour increments each day with pods of 10 students or less. Indoor rehearsals are prohibited.
