DHHR Warns of Scam Phone Calls

If you receive a call from someone who claims to be employed by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources offering free grant money, be on the alert. The DHHR said it has been notified of the scam calls being made to residents who live in the central counties of the state. Anyone who receives such a call is asked to call the West Virginia Attorney General Office’s Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-368-8808 or file a report about the call with the Attorney General’s Office online.
