Fairmont man charged with trying to set fire to Subway restaurant

A Fairmont man is facing arson charges for trying to burn down a Subway restaurant. Police were doing a building check when the saw 20-year-old Nicholas Billups set fire to an accelerant. The officers were able to put out the flames, and detain Billups. There was a warrant for his arrest. He’s accused of leaving a note, at the Subway, threatening to “burn the place to the ground,” to get revenge on the manager who fired him.
