Huntington firefighters battled two different fires, just a block apart. The first fire broke out at a vacant home on 8th Avenue and 23rd Street. No one was, and fire crews were able to get the fire under control quickly. The second fire broke out on 9th Avenue and 17th Street at a house that was being remodeled. Flames were shootout of the side of the home, and firefighters brought it under control quickly. The cause of the fires is under investigation.
