WVU Plans Fall Return to Campus Despite Spike in Cases

The Monongalia County Health Department has reported more than 100 new cases of the coronavirus this week and that’s a more than 60% increase in positive cases. But that recent spike hasn’t stopped West Virginia University officials from going ahead with plans for an on-campus experience this fall. They encourage everybody to wear their mask, to social distance, and practice good hygiene, but the reentry plan is on as scheduled. Class sizes will be reduced, Plexiglas will be put up in certain places and students and faculty will be required to get tested when they return to campus. WVU’s fall semester is expected to start on August 19.
