The Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy South campus is scheduled to open in Montgomery this fall, and thost a job fair next week. The campus has more than 35 open positions that include trades, administrative, leadership, food preparation, management and counseling, according to a news release from the West Virginia National Guard which sponsors the program. The job fair is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Vining Library, 405 Fayette Pike, in Montgomery.
The Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy works with teens who are considered academically at risk of not graduating from public school. Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy South will be the state’s second location. The other location is in Kingwood in Preston County. Classes in Montgomery are slated to start Oct. 11.
