Senator Joe Manchin says he has received assurances that there are no immediate plans to close some West Virginia post offices. Some post offices around the state had posted notices that they would be closing at the end of August. The U.S. Postal Service says it will not close any offices, but is conducting feasibility studies at twelve facilities, and has identified more than twenty locations for reduced hours.
