Residents Protest Fayette County Water Service

Residents in one Fayette County community said they are fed up with years of having high levels of iron and other possible chemicals in their tap water. Customers of the Page-Kincaid Public Service District took their protest to the streets Monday in their community. They held signs and bottles filled with brown water. An Eyewitness News investigation a year ago reported that 400 of Page-Kincaid’s 650 customers sent the state Public Service Commission a petition alleging dirty water and poor quality of service. The Legislature last session passed a bill giving the state Public Service Commission the authority to direct a takeover of a distressed utility.
