The Kanawha County Family Court will remain closed after a second employee has tested positive for the coronavirus. The Kanawha County Commission and chief family court judge Kenneth Ballard ordered the extended closure. The family court had already been closed to the public since Monday, Aug. 31, following the announcement of the first positive test. Family court offices are located in the Kanawha Judicial Annex, which remains open. Only family court offices are closed. For the time being, public and employee access to the building will be allowed only by Kanawha County Sheriff Michael Rutherford and Kanawha-Charleston Health Officer Dr. Sherri Young.
