The Kanawha County Board of Education is preparing to start school in the “orange,” saying they don’t expect in-person learning to kick off the school year. The new color-coded map dictating what schools can do will be revealed tonight at 9 p.m. Kanawha County school leaders expect that students will be learning remotely to start the year. Regardless of when Kanawha County starts in-person learning, the first two weeks will be a blended model, with kids whose last names start with A-L going to school on Monday and Tuesday, while staff cleans the building Wednesday, and then kids M-Z go to school Thursday and Friday.
