Morgantown Bars Face Violations

Health department violations were reported at seven bars in Morgantown last weekend for infractions, including a lack of social distancing, not wearing face coverings, overcrowding and for patrons drinking alcohol without ordering or consuming food. The Monongalia County Health Department said all of the citations were COVID-19-related, except for one that involved underage drinking.
The health department checked out 17 establishments and those with violations will require a follow-up hearing. Bars in Morgantown were closed twice by Justice previously after coronavirus numbers spiked in Monongalia County, but they have since reopened.
