Students at the University of Charleston used the Labor Day weekend to wrap up work on the Labor of Love Project. UC’s traditional tasks involved trash pickup, landscaping and visiting nursing homes, but the pandemic changed that. Students spent time painting parts of a new mural, making hundreds of masks for people who need them, and writing more than 1,000 cards for troops and front line workers. More than 1,000 people participated around campus, working from Friday to Monday, three days longer than last year.
