Wyoming County remained in the red for the fourth straight day on the West Virginia county alert map Thursday, while eight counties were in orange. Putnam County remained in green, and Kanawha and Cabell counties in yellow in the latest DHHR map. Wayne, Mingo, and Boone counties were among those in orange. Jackson, Roane, and Clay were among those in gold. The key map is released at 5 p.m. Saturday by the state Department of Education and determines whether counties the following week can have in-person classes and play in sports competitions.
