National Guard Will Increase Its COVID Response

FEMA has given the West Virginia National Guard authorization to increase the number of personnel helping with COVID-19 response to 400. The Guard said it has 379 members on duty now and has distributed more than 19 million pieces of personal protective equipment to all 55 counties. The Guard has also performed over 48-thousand COVID-19 tests at various testing sites. The Guard said the federal government will reimburse the state for 75% of the related costs.
