Reta Mays, the ex-nursing assistant linked to eight patient deaths at the Clarksburg VA, is scheduled to be sentenced in mid-February. Her lawyers are gathering her mental health records to present possible mitigating factors during her sentencing hearing. Mays faces consecutive life terms for seven murders, and another twenty years for assault with attempt to murder. She was in court Friday for a hearing that focused on her mental health dating back to her 2003 deployment to Iraq.
