Charleston police are trying to fill more than 15 empty police officer positions and will be holding two testing events in November to recruit new officers. Certified West Virginia law enforcement officers will get a $5,000 sign on bonus. The physical ability and written exam portions of the hiring test will be held on Nov. 7 and Nov. 21 at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. You should fill out a pre-application with the Charleston PD ahead of the testing dates.
