The number of counties in the red on the West Virginia county alert system map doubled from the previous day with six now in that color. Wayne, Boone and Wood counties joined Jackson, Marshall and Mineral in the red on the state Department of Human Resources map posted Thursday. Kanawha County remained in gold and Putnam and Cabell counties stayed in orange, along with Raleigh.
