WV Education Association Recommends Closing Schools

The West Virginia Education Association as called for Gov. Jim Justice to order remote learning for all school systems through the remainder of the year. The governor has shifted schools to remote learning for three days after Thanksgiving, but the association doesn’t think his actions go far enough. Dale Lee, president of the WVEA, said Monday that school systems are seeing massive closures and quarantines due to exposure and contact tracing, and the agency recommends shutting down schools rather than rely on the color-coded map. Kanawha and Cabell counties remained in gold on the latest map, and Putnam County stayed in orange.
