City officials have announced funeral service arrangements and procession route for Charleston police officer Cassie Johnson. The services will take place Tuesday, Dec. 8, at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon and services starting at noon. The services will not be open to the public, but will be broadcast and streamed live on WCHS-TV and online.
The funeral procession will travel from the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center and turn west on Quarrier Street and then north on Pennsylvania Avenue where it will enter the interstate at the Women’s and Children’s on-ramp. It will head north on Interstate 77 to the Tupper’s Creek exit, then go east on Call Road to Route 21 north and will end at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Several street closures are planned.
