Gatewood is Sentenced in Sissonville Murder Case

A woman convicted of stabbing and killing a woman outside a Sissonville convenience store has been sentenced to life with no possibility of parole. Cynthia Gatewood was sentenced Monday in Kanawha County Circuit Court after being found guilty of first-degree murder for stabbing Cheryl Fisher. The two strangers had a brief argument outside of the tobacco stop in 2018 and Gatewood confessed to police that she did stab Fisher for disrespecting her.
