Kanawha County leaders sent a letter to some of West Virginia’s congressional delegation requesting more funding for first responders. The Kanawha County Commission sent letters to Sen. Joe Manchin, Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and Rep. Alex Mooney requesting additional funding that would help support law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire departments and 911. The commission said local municipalities cannot afford to keep carrying the burden of pandemic-related expenses without some relief.
