An explosion that injured three people at a chemical plant in Belle also resulted in one fatality. Kanawha County Commission president Kent Carper confirmed the death Wednesday. The explosion happened after 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Chemours plant in Belle. WCHS-TV said the explosion involved chlorinated dry bleach and methanol. Chemours formed as a spinoff from DuPont in 2015. The 723-acre site is located along the Kanawha River about 10 miles southeast of Charleston.
