The Salvation Army Still Needs Donations

Many people are now relying on food pantries. Charitable organizations are normally busy this time of year, COVID-19 has amplified the demand, and increased the number of people in need. The Salvation Army in Charleston is working to keep up with the rise in donation requests. Families are in need of food for a variety of reasons, including job loss or more people living and working at home. The Salvation Army is short on some food items and they welcome donations, particularly of breakfast foods and non-perishables. The Salvation Army, located on Tennessee Avenue in Charleston is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only one resident is allowed in at a time to pick up food.
