West Virginia’s Vaccine Plan Includes Four Initial Phases

The first COVID-19 vaccine will begin arriving in states today after the federal government gave final approval to Pfizer’s vaccine. Initially, about 3 million doses will be shipped nationwide through FedEx and UPS. In West Virginia, Governor Jim Justice outlines the allocation plan on his website, showing two main phases to distribute the shots here. Phase 1 will include those at the highest risk of serious complications from COVID-19, as well as essential frontline workers in healthcare. Teachers are included in Phase 1-D. The general public will be part of the next phase.
