The city of Dunbar dedicated a road in honor of longtime Kanawha County Commissioner Hoppy Shores this week. The road leading to Dunbar City Park was dedicated to Shores, who was born and raised in Dunbar. Officials said the dedication was a small token of appreciation for his 50 years of public service. Shores retired as a county commissioner in 2020.
