State Lawmakers Choose a New Senate President

The West Viginia Senate unanimously elected Berkeley County Senator Craig Blair this week as the new Senate President. He replaces Mitch Carmichael who was defeated in the primary election. Blair said a priority for him in this legislative session will be to increase broadband access throughout the state to grow business. Both the House of Delegates and State Senate gaveled in this week to start the new lawmaking session. They’ll recess now until after governor Jim Justice’s inauguration.
