The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority is rejecting a proposal from SOAR, a grassroots harm reduction group, in an effort to get state certification. The Ambulance Authority says it doesn’t have enough information about SOARS program to provide any type of support. The state denied SOAR’s certification after failing to gain support from city or county officials. The group is appealing that decision and trying to get officials on board.
