Appalachian Power crews are working to restore power to around fifty-thousand customers. The power may not be restored in some areas until next week.
The West Virginia National Guard is helping with relief efforts. The guard is helping cut up trees and branches that have fallen onto power lines, and another group is going door to door in Wayne County making wellness checks.
