Town Hall Will Happen Tonight on Harm Reduction Programs

Harm reduction programs have been a point of contention for some time in Charleston, and now one group is hoping to further the conversation and ensure all voices are heard. The grassroots group SOAR has been handing out as many as 40 syringes each week with no requirement that they be returned. Needle litter is one concern that Charleston Police are tracking and reported 27 needles found in the first two weeks of tracking their findings. The West Virginia Drug Intervention Institute will hold a town hall this evening to help further the conversation. You can register online up until the start of the meeting at 5 p.m., and there’s more on the WVDII Facebook page.
