A bill that would require hospitals to allow a family member in to see a patient, even during a pandemic under certain guidelines was approved Tuesday by the West Virginia House of Delegates . Mylissa Smith’s Law is named in honor of a Kanawha County Hospice nurse who spent nearly four weeks alone in a hospital before eventually dying from COVID. The measure now heads to the Senate. The bill also would protect facilities from being liable for any exposure that could happen as part of the visitation.
