Jackson County Man is Arrested After Meth-Related Incident

Jackson County deputies said a convicted felon who said he had just smoked methamphetamine was arrested after he fled on foot with a gun. Colten Asbury is also accused of fighting with officers and screaming, “Shoot me.” Asbury was charged with felon in possession with a firearm, according to a post Thursday from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office said the deputies ended up in a fight for their lives during the encounter with Asbury, who later acknowledged he had just smoked meth and was paranoid that something was chasing him. He’s being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
