Nobody was injured after a fire destroyed a home in Kanawha County on Sunday. The fire was reported just after 3 p.m. in the 800 block of Georges Creek Drive near Malden, according to Metro 911. Crews on scene said one person was at home at the time the fire started near the fireplace, but they made it out safely. The home is expected to be a complete loss. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and keep it from spreading to surrounding homes.
