A man was arrested after a multi-county chase that started in Jackson County and ended in Kanawha County early Wednesday morning. Sgt. Brian Humphreys with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of the car reached speeds of 130 mph during the pursuit. Another person was in the car when the chase began, but Jackson County dispatchers said that person jumped out on I-77 near the Goldtown exit and was injured. WCHS TV said Kanawha County deputies joined the pursuit and laid spike strips, and the car hit the spike strips but kept going and eventually crashed into an embankment on I-77 near Sissonville. The man arrested was booked under “John Doe,” after he provided several different names to deputies.
