Donnell Strong is Arrested in North Carolina for 2016 Shooting

U.S. marshals say a fugitive who was wanted as a suspect in a Charleston nightclub shooting that happened in 2016 was arrested Tuesday morning in Charlotte. Donnell Strong was wanted on charges of wanton endangerment and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from a shooting at Boondocks Bar in May 2016 where Jamaine Sutton of Dunbar was fatally wounded. Jaques Lamar Slade of Gastonia, N.C., was later arrested and charged with Sutton’s murder. Police said was Strong, was seen on surveillance video pulling a handgun from his waistband and firing shots toward the ceiling as he tried to leave the bar. Police said Strong has been convicted three times of wanton endangerment charges that involve a firearm since 2007.
