A multi-million dollar renovation of downtown Charleston’s Slack Plaza is set to break ground in just a few weeks. It’s a project that has been years in the making, and the city hopes the $3.5 million project will attract more people to the downtown area when it’s finished. WCHS TV reported the new Slack Plaza will have lots of green space, tables and seating and a stage for outdoor concerts, along with a small ice skating rink in the winter. Construction is expected to start on April 19, and it’s expected to be finished around October.
