A man accused of fatally shooting a Charleston police officer pleaded not guilty to all charges from an indictment that was handed down several weeks ago. Joshua Phillips pleaded not guilty Thursday during his grand jury arraignment in Kanawha County Circuit Court. He is accused of fatally shooting Patrolman Cassie Johnson last December as she was responding to a parking complaint. The trial for Phillips is scheduled Aug. 16 and he’s being held at South Central Regional Jail.
