Turnpike Had an Increase in Easter Weekend Travel

Drivers hit the road in large numbers over the Easter holiday weekend in West Virginia, with state officials reporting the highest total of motorists on the Turnpike in about 19 months. State officials said there were 767,321 transactions on the Turnpike during the holiday period from March 28 to April 3. This Easter’s travel on the Turnpike was up 3.35% from the same week in 2019. Officials said this is the biggest week of travel on the Turnpike since Aug. 11-17 in 2019.
