Underpass Work in Huntington Will Alleviate Flooding Issues

Flooding has been a longtime problem at several underpasses in Huntington and several projects are planned to try to fix the issue. The Eighth Street Underpass in Huntington will be closed about a month while crews do work to help reduce the risk of flooding. WCHS TV reported that the sewer and stormwater drains are being separated that are underneath the underpasses. This will redirect water flow out of the underpasses. After the work is completed on the Eighth Street Underpass, a similar project will be conducted at the 10th Street Underpass. Heavy rain could delay the projects.
