BridgeValley’s Move to Downtown Charleston is Delayed

A community college’s plans to move into the former Stone and Thomas building in Charleston has hit a roadblock. BridgeValley Community and Technical College’s Board of Governors voted Friday afternoon to pull its master plan off the table. That master plan included moving students from its South Charleston campus to the former department store building in downtown Charleston. The board’s chairwoman said two state-level oversight boards that approve such plans tabled the school’s proposal in October. Board members plan to invite them to their next meeting to talk about how to move forward.
