Changes Approved for This Year’s Bear Hunting Seasons

The Natural Resources Commission is putting some changes in place for West Virginia’s bear-hunting season this fall. The Gazette-Mail reported the most significant change will take place in Boone, Fayette, Kanawha and Raleigh counties, and they’ll get 10 extra days of hunting this fall, split into two parts: Aug. 28-Sept. 6, and Oct. 30-Nov. 5. The early firearm season in Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming counties will move back a couple of weeks, and to split it into two parts from Sept. 11-17, and again from Oct. 2-8. The commission made no significant changes to the state’s deer-hunting seasons.
