Over Half of West Virginia is Vaccinated So Far

The target date goal to have 65% of West Virginia’s population eligible for the coronavirus vaccine receive at least one shot is coming in June, and Gov. Jim Justice said the state is at 57% right now. The state’s mask mandate requiring people to wear masks in public buildings other than their homes will be lifted June 20 – the state’s 158th birthday. The mask mandate will be lifted regardless if the 65 percent target is reached. The governor again mentioned that those 16 to 35 who have received the vaccine are eligible to register for the $100 incentive, which they can receive in the form of a gift card or savings bond. A link for registration is available on the governor’s website.
