Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin said Monday that the Augusta, Ga.-based Hull Group will buy the Charleston Town Center property. WCHS reported the group owns 33 malls in 16 states. Marketing materials described Town Center as one of the largest enclosed malls in the United States. There has been a growing list of businesses that have announced recently they are closing their locations at the Town Center, including Shipwreck Collection Market, Christopher and Banks, Victoria’s Secret, Chico’s, Talbots and Sephora. Anchor stores Macy’s and Sears also closed. The sale of the mall could close later this year.
