Huntington Begins the Process of Replacing Its Police Chief

The Huntington police chief is retiring, and an interim chief could be named by the end of the month. Mayor Steve Williams said that finding a new chief is a 4-step process and the first step of naming an interim chief will happen in the next week or two. Then the search will begin for a permanent replacement with interviews with the top candidates. Current Chief Ray Cornwell’s retirement will be effective July 2.
