Huntington’s Interim Police Chief Won’t Go For the Permanent Job

An interim police chief has been named for the Huntington Police Department. Huntington Mayor Steve Williams said Capt. Eric Corder will be the interim police chief once current Chief Ray Cornwell’s retirement begins July 2. The city said Corder is a 24-year veteran with the police department and currently serves as captain of the Patrol Bureau. Corder says he is not seeking the permanent police chief role, but wanted to help out while the search is on for a permanent replacement.
