A new dog park called Emma’s Place is opened Wednesday in Cato Park, named in honor of fallen Charleston Police Officer Cassie Johnson. Her beloved chocolate Lab is named Emma, which is where the name comes from. The park is located by the soccer fields and has play equipment for furry friends, a gazebo and a water station. The city of Charleston worked with Johnson’s family to make sure this is a park she would love.
