Putnam County Roads Will See The Most Work Under New Spending Plan

Lawmakers gave the green light this week to pumping an extra $150 million into roads and bridge maintenance and bridge replacement. WCHS TV took a look at how and where the money will be used and said it’s not for new projects, but rather for maintenance of roads and bridges. Division of Highways officials said projects are spread around the state with Putnam County getting about $7 million of work, Kanawha picking up $4.5 million, and Cabell getting about $3.5 million. Putnam County, with more than $7 million allotted for road work projects, led spending in all counties in the state — followed locally by Fayette, Kanawha, Braxton, Nicholas, and Wayne Counties.
